Re: Important Information Affecting The
Filing of Your New Jersey Income Tax Return
Dear Client:
As you may be aware, federal and state taxing authorities have been recommending for the past few years that individuals electronically file their income tax returns. Returns filed electronically reduce the amount of processing required by the federal and state taxing authorities (thereby reducing costs). Taxpayers receiving refunds generally receive their refunds in less time than if their returns were filed in the traditional manner.
The State of New Jersey has begun implementing a program to “strongly encourage” the electronic filing of all Resident Income Tax Returns. Starting this year, the State has mandated that certain return preparers electronically file all 2004 New Jersey Resident Income Tax Returns (Form NJ-1040) prepared on behalf of their clients. We also encourage electronic filing.
Please acknowledge your consent to electronically file your 2004 NJ-1040 below and return this letter to us in the envelope provided. This only affects the return that is submitted to the State of New Jersey. As always, you will receive a paper copy of the completed return for your records. Prior to electronically filing your New Jersey return we will forward Form NJ-8879, NJ e-file Signature Authorization together with instructions, for your review and signature.
Lastly, visit us at www.bederson.com for additional information and forms. If you have any questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to call us.
Very truly yours,
BEDERSON & COMPANY, LLP
