Steven P. Bortnick, CPA

Steven, a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, has over 20 years of experience in public accounting.  He has been an integral part of the Bederson team since 1991 and became a partner in 1999.  His practice focus is providing comprehensive accounting, tax and estate planning services to small business entrepreneurs and their families. Steven has a strong history with clients who provide professional services, such as insurance agencies, third party administrators, securities broker/dealers, advertising firms, attorneys and various health care providers, as well as experience with wholesale/retail material distributors.

Prior personal involvement in a family owned manufacturing and distribution business exposed Steven to the daily tribulations faced by clients.  This experience, combined with his responsibilities on the firm’s executive committee, gives Steven an empathetic understanding of his clients’ issues.

In addition to being a CPA, Steven is also a New Jersey Licensed Life Insurance Producer and is well positioned to consult on a wide range of issues concerning the financial needs of clients and their families.

Steven has served as director of the Essex County Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and has been a speaker at various continuing professional education seminars.
